Late Gopi Krishna Khanal, who was born in remote area of eastern Nepal, has spent four decades in the field of journalism and literature. He faced traffic accident on July 20th, 2018 and remained veil forever from the earth. His straightforwardness, immaculate personality and candid nature can be inspirational for lover of journalism and literature. Anticipating those factors, the academy is formed by his wife, Rupa Khanal and two sons, Manoj and Roshan on his thirteenth sacred day of funeral ceremony
The academy will work on without any rays of business in terms of politics, religion and genders and work in the field of literature, journalism and social service of the health sector. With formation of the academy, it has been declared that national and international personalities and thinkers who show great zeal to promote and keep keen interest in the field of journalism will be rewarded with Gopi Krishna journalism award on his every death anniversary.
As we know, Late Gopi Krishna Khanal who was a forerunner among social workers, patriot and senior journalist, has deserted many loftier assets; thousands of rare and important books and news article and so on, and in his absence, those assets could be endanger in future. Keeping such facet in the mind, the academy will act to conserve and immortalize his artistic work of arts.
