In response to the devastating floods that affected Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading, the Gopi Krishna Memorial Foundation has contributed NPR 55,555 (Fifty-Five Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-Five Rupees) to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund of the Government of Nepal to support rescue and relief efforts for affected Nepali and foreign citizens.
The contribution was made following a recent discussion and decision by the Foundation’s Executive Committee, with the aim of supporting the rescue and relief efforts for those affected by the disaster.
The unexpected floods that occurred on Bhadra 10 (August 26) caused significant loss of life and property across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and surrounding areas. Many people were reported missing, while search, rescue, and relief operations continue in the affected areas. The Foundation has urged the Government of Nepal and all relevant authorities involved in the response to further intensify search and rescue efforts.
The Foundation also expresses its deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the disaster. In particular, the Gopi Krishna Memorial Foundation family prays for the eternal peace of the known and unknown souls who lost their lives after being affected by the unexpected flooding and inundation in the Langtang area of Rasuwa following the collapse of part of a glacier.
During this difficult time, the Gopi Krishna Memorial Foundation stands in solidarity with the affected individuals and families and remains committed to providing humanitarian support and fulfilling its social responsibility.
